She weighs 18lbs 9oz. and is 27 in long.
Her Pedi ordered a bunch of lab tests and we got most of them done but Abigail's vein blew (poor baby) so she still needs Hep A and Hep B labs to be done.
Her Pedi also ordered an xray of her skull because of her flat head and mentioned that she may need a helmet! Yikes! I didn't think her head was THAT bad! I figured once her hair grew it would cover the "flatness".
I figure I will have the xray done on Friday along with the "left over" lab work.
She also wants her to have a hearing test (maybe next week) and once ALL these tests are done she will go over them with me next visit, which is in July.
I hate these initial office visits. I hate having to hold her while everyone is poking at her. I feel like I am betraying her.
However Abigail has such a great personality that once the poking was done she would stop crying and give everyone a beautiful smile.
She holds no grudges...............yet.

poor baby...Sophie cries when she even sees the nurse at the ped's office. She's fine with the doc, but that mean nurse is the one who does the shots! And she knows!
Welcome home... and hope all went well... take care
Poor Abigail. It's so hard to see your child go through the misery of shots and lab work, isn't it? It just amazes me, though, at just how resilient and forgiving kids are. We took Michelle to the doctor right after we got home from China and she had to get 4 shots and blood work. She cried and screamed and I felt like I had scarred her for life. On the way home, I heard giggling coming from the back seat and she was playing and having a great time.

Gail,
yeah, flat heads can interfere with brain function, such as hearing and eyesight. Kenzie was lucky her head's flatness wasn't very severe.
I remember when I took Kenzie to the IA clinic and I had to hold her still while they drew blood. She screamed and cried "Mama Mama Mama" and looked at me as if to plead "PLease make them stop!"
I didn't cry - even though I wanted to. It was breaking me into pieces inside, watching the terror in her face. The second they stopped and taped her arm up, she got down (with a little attitude at first) and then began singing, as if all was right with the world. They gave her a book AND a toy for being so cute.
Funny thing - she did glare at the nurse a bit just before we left.
Be glad this is probably the only time you'll have to do this as a baby. She'll never remember it.
Give her big hugs from me!
Hi Gail,
I'm so glad you are all home, safe and sound. We are back on track as far as time goes. Lucy has her 2nd ped. visit on Monday. We had to take her in the morning after we returned for a sinus infection. It was wonderful meeting you and your family in China. Abigail is more precious. Good luck with her tests. We'll be thinking of you!

Gotta love Abigail! What a trooper!
I really detest that first doctor visit...dreading that one with William. Abigail is adorable, those cheeks are amazing. I bet you kiss them ALL the time. :)
I am so glad you are home. We have missed you!! Abigail is so stinking cute. Can't wait to see her.
Hopefully all the poking is over for awhile.
She's so beautiful!!
