Growth Update

I received an update on Abigail.
She is now 17.6 lbs. and 25.19 inches.
She is a good size! However I have been hearing that they weigh them with clothes on.
I figure I will bring 6-9 mo. clothes with me. Loren was 13 mos and 20 lbs. and she fit into a size 12 months.
I also got some information on her development and her daily schedule.
The care givers call her ShiShi.
It says she is a timid baby. She likes to listen to music and laugh! Sociable and bright. A playful and outgoing disposition.
Not sure where the timid comes into play.
She is fussy sometimes....aren't we all? : ) and feels closest to the caregivers.
They end the update by saying:
"Baby ShiShi, we truly wish you grow in the sun and grow up happily."

Now that brought tears.
Oh sweet ShiShi, Mommy can not wait to bring you home.

OH Gail how sweet is that? Brought tears to my eyes too. Sounds like she is being well looked after until you and big sister Loren can swoop her into your loving arms.

Thanks for the update my friend.

What a sweet nickname!! That might be a keeper.

Our little guy goes by "BingBing" in China and that seems to have stuck in our family. :) My son will say BingBing but not Owen!!!

Such a sweet wish for her to "grow in the sun and grow up happily". I know that will come to pass when she comes into your family, Gail!

Sounds like she has a delightful little personality, too. :)

So what is next Gail? When do you get on a plane to pick up your baby?

Oh, and be careful when you dust OK?

What a sweet wish they made for her! It's so nice to have an update. She sounds like a lovely, healthy little baby girl who really doesn't sound timid at all. The translations can be very funny sometimes.

Gail,
It sounds like this orphanage is a very loving place. Our update also had some very touching language in it. It made me feel very good about the whole thing. These could be the longest six weeks in history!

Gail -- I thought I left a Congratulations note on your referral day, but its not in your comments -- I must have forgotten to hit PUBLISH. So a belated Congrats.

She sounds like a lovely baby with a sweet disposition. She also sounds like she is much loved by her caregivers.

I hope you speedy travels to China.

My best,

Theresa

Congrats on your referral! We are a CAWLI family-and have been home 3 years with our Maya. She is from Hunan and will be 4 in July-it is so hard to imagine it has been that long!
Blessings as you wait-this wait to travel was the hardest for me.
