Today was my Grandmother's 100th Birthday!
She still lives in her own apartment and has all her wits about her.
I can only hope that I too can live to be 100 and be around for my girls.

I love your grandmother! How wonderful that she is so spry! She's just a young thing! LOL! I had an uncle who lived to be 103 - and he did everything for himself until the last 6 months of his life. He was such a character... He would say things to me like, "I think your mother is kind of chubby." thinking he'd get a rise out of me... and I'd laugh and say I was gonna tell on him and he'd laugh and go "Oh no! Don't do that!" Or he'd tease me about sitting next to his oldest and best friend (who was 80 something) in church - and this guy was mostly deaf and liked to talk loudly in church - and I would tell Uncle Curtis to move over so I could sit by the guy... to which he would get embarrased and then say he didn't want to do that to me - he was just kidding... He liked me because I played his game, and I didn't let him fluster me any. He was a great man! And he had tales to tell!
I'd love to get on video and audio tape your grandmother's stories about her childhood and life. I bet she's got quite a few to tell.
